The season of the Mozarteum Argentino continues with a program dedicated to a selection of works by two of the most prominent composers of romanticism: Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. Nakariakov comments, “The program is based around the Brahms’s Horn Trio and in the 1st half we play some our favorite pieces that we think fit the trio.” In the Buenos Aires evening, pieces by Robert Schumann will be performed: Three Romances, Op. 94, Adagio and Allegro, Op. 70, and Arabesque in C Major, Op. 18 for solo piano; and by Johannes Brahms, Sonata for Piano and Violin No. 2 in A Major, Op. 100, and Trio in E-flat Major, Op. 40.

First Time and Return

Sergei Nakariakov is recognized as one of the most outstanding trumpeters on the current scene. His technical virtuosity and sensitivity have made him a preferred performer by both contemporary composers and the world’s leading orchestras for repertoire works. His interpretations range from Baroque to contemporary pieces, with numerous transcriptions bearing his name. In 2023, Nakariakov made a notable appearance at the Argerich Festival during his first visit to Argentina: “Last year I had this amazing opportunity to play at the Martha Argerich festival here, I had the chance to share stage with Martha and to play for the first time in this magnificent theatre. Unforgettable experience!”

About the Trio

Boris Brovtsyn, a Russian violinist, is widely acclaimed for his versatility and musical depth. His repertoire includes over fifty violin concertos and a vast array of chamber works, many of which he has premiered. Meanwhile, Maria Meerovitch, a pianist born in Saint Petersburg, has built an international career both as a performer and an educator. Both will accompany Nakariakov in the Mozarteum concert, and thus the trumpeter describes the longstanding relationship that binds them: “With Maria Meerovitch we play together since more than 20 years, Boris Brovtsyn I met a little later but also a long time ago. Us 3 , we are good friends and we played at different festivals together. We feel each other well.”
