Martha Argerich in a legendary recital given in 1969 at the Teatro Colón

The great Argentine pianist gave a recital on July 6, 1969, at the age of 28, featuring masterful pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Maurice Ravel, and Frédéric Chopin.

The sound heritage of the Teatro Colón consists of unique and unrepeatable pieces, including live recordings of lyrical works, symphonies, and recitals.

This material was presented as part of the Cultura en Casa program. The select recital by pianist Martha Argerich, held on July 6, 1969, featured a musical program consisting of: English Suite No. 2 in A minor BWV 807 by Johann Sebastian Bach; Sonata No. 2 in G minor, Op. 22 and Kinderszenen Op. 15, No. 1, Von fremden Ländern und Menschen by Robert Schumann; Harmonies poétiques et religieuses No. 7 “Funérailles” by Franz Liszt; Jeux d’eau by Maurice Ravel; and Ballade No. 3 in A-flat major, Op. 47; Mazurka Op. 24 No. 2, Mazurka Op. 63 No. 2, and Scherzo Op. 31 No. 2 in B-flat minor by Frédéric Chopin.
