Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov Announce Their Separation

The soprano and tenor announced their separation, ending a decade-long relationship.

The couple, who began their relationship in 2014 after their joint performance in Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut” at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome and married in 2015, shared a statement with the Associated Press regarding their separation.

Netrebko and Eyvazov stated in an announcement released on Wednesday by her manager based in London: “After 10 happy years together, we have made the difficult but amicable decision to separate. We will remain wonderful friends, united in our love for Tiago, and look forward to our announced and future stage collaborations.”

Netrebko, 52, has a 15-year-old son, Tiago, from her relationship with bass-baritone Erwin Schrott, whom she was with from 2007 to 2013.

Last Visit of the Couple to Argentina

Last year, Anna Netrebko returned to Teatro Colón to perform as Leonora in Giuseppe Verdi’s “Il Trovatore.” The production, presented in a semi-staged version, featured a notable cast, including Yusif Eyvazov as Manrico and Olesya Petrova as Azucena. The musical direction was led by Giacomo Sagripanti. The minimalist staging, with a focus on music and drama, highlighted Netrebko’s participation, reaffirming her status as a global opera star.
